AC and DC hipot testing is widely utilized for diagnostics and testing of dielectric materials. As a large proportion of the world’s distribution network is approaching the end of its service life, the technicians regularly come across the need to conduct maintenance or acceptance tests. These measures frequently need to be taken on site, which means the industry’s demand for powerful compact hipot testers combining the two main types of hi potential testing is growing.

Understanding the challenges the utility sector faces, KEP offers the HVTS-HP Series High Voltage Test Systems intended for AC and DC high potential testing. These test systems are used for diagnostic and testing purposes, helping to prevent losses due to downtime. Using the HVTS-HP Series testers, the user can evaluate the condition of various low- to medium-capacitive components of cable networks.

Due to the friendly interface and intuitive manual controls, the test systems can be configured to suit the current testing needs. Also, the user can run tests automatically, which is especially useful for staff with less experience in withstand cable testing.

The HVTS-HP Test Systems maintain the output voltage at the user-specified level and generate a stable waveform while the output voltage is increased to the pre-set value. To achieve a high accuracy of test results, the systems measure the output voltage on the object being tested, thus providing the user with the relevant testing information.

The HVT-family testers ensure high safety levels, featuring current and voltage trip interlocks. Depending on the test requirements, the user can set the threshold output voltage as well as current and voltage trip values.

In addition, KEP provides a possibility to customize the HVTS-HP testers in order to help the customer reach specific testing objectives.
